Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team in the construction sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of payroll processes, compliance regulations, and the unique challenges associated with payroll in the construction industry. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for a diverse workforce, including hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and changes in employee status.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations, including accurate calculations of overtime, allowances, and deductions.
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data entry and updates in the payroll system.
- Prepare and deliver payroll reports, summaries, and analyses to management and relevant departments.
- Assist in the preparation of annual reports, including end-of-year tax filings and employee tax documents (e.g., W-2s, end-of-service gratuity calculations).
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing timely assistance and resolving any issues that arise.
- Monitor and maintain payroll software and systems, recommending updates or improvements as necessary.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Support the finance team with budgeting and forecasting related to payroll expenses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years to 7 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of payroll software and systems (experience with [specific payroll software] is a plus).
- Familiarity with local labor laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements in the UAE.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-service-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
