Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our dynamic team in the real estate sector. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of database management systems, data architecture, and best practices to ensure the availability, performance, and security of our databases. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our database environments to support our business operations and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

- Database Design & Implementation: Lead the design and implementation of new database systems and enhancements to existing databases to meet the needs of the organization. Collaborate with developers and data architects to define data models and structures that support application requirements.

- Database Performance Tuning: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance. Implement indexing, partitioning, and other performance-enhancing techniques to ensure efficient data access and retrieval.

- Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity. Regularly test backup and recovery processes to ensure reliability and compliance with industry standards.

- Security Management: Establish and enforce database security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data. Monitor database access and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to data protection and privacy.

- Migration and Upgrades: Manage database migrations and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to business operations. Evaluate and recommend new database technologies and solutions to improve efficiency and scalability.

- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system administrators, and business analysts, to support application development and data integration projects.

- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures. Create and update technical documentation for system architecture, data models, and operational procedures.

- Training and Support: Provide training and support to junior database administrators and other staff regarding database best practices and troubleshooting techniques.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5 to 8 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
- Strong knowledge of database design principles, data modeling, and SQL query optimization.
- Experience with database backup and recovery strategies, as well as security best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
