Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Services Manager to oversee and enhance our educational support services in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in social services, particularly within the educational sector, and will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that promote student well-being, support families, and foster a nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Design, implement, and assess social service programs aimed at supporting students and their families, including counseling, mentoring, and advocacy services.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of social workers, counselors, and support staff, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with educators, administrators, parents, and community organizations to identify and address the social and emotional needs of students.
- Policy Implementation: Develop and enforce policies and procedures that ensure compliance with local regulations and best practices in social services within educational settings.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to student well-being and program effectiveness, utilizing findings to inform decision-making and program improvements.
- Training and Development: Organize and conduct training sessions for staff on social service practices, intervention strategies, and trauma-informed care.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations, working closely with families and external agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
- Advocacy and Outreach: Promote awareness of available social services to students and families, advocating for their needs within the educational system and the wider community.
- Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of the social services budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet program goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in social services, specifically within an educational setting.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong understanding of child development, mental health, and social service systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- Familiarity with local laws and regulations regarding child welfare and education.
- Proficient in data collection and analysis, with experience in using data to drive program improvements.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
