Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Sustainability Specialist to join our dynamic team in the pharmaceutical sector, based in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be passionate about driving sustainable practices and will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and managing sustainability initiatives that align with our corporate goals and regulatory requirements. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our environmental footprint and contribute to the overall sustainability strategy of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

- Sustainability Strategy Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement short-term and long-term sustainability strategies that align with organizational objectives and industry best practices.

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local and international environmental regulations, standards, and guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry. Stay updated on changes in legislation and assist in adapting practices accordingly.

- Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to sustainability metrics, including waste reduction, energy consumption, water usage, and carbon footprint. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and executive management.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, partners, regulatory bodies, and community organizations, to promote sustainability initiatives and foster collaborative efforts.

- Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs and workshops to enhance employee awareness and understanding of sustainability practices and their importance to the organization.

- Sustainable Product Development: Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to identify and implement sustainable practices in the design and manufacturing of pharmaceutical products.

- Project Management: Lead sustainability projects from conception to execution, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet specified objectives.

- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in sustainability practices and processes. Propose innovative solutions to reduce environmental impact and enhance operational efficiency.

- Market Research: Conduct research on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in sustainability within the pharmaceutical sector to inform strategy and decision-making.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Chemistry, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

- A minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, or a related field, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

- Strong knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP) and environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).

- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable strategies.

- Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and sustainability reporting tools.
