Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Wine Assistant to join our dynamic team in the construction sector based in Abu Dhabi. This unique role combines a love for wine with the exciting challenges of the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of wine, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Wine Selection and Procurement: Assist in the selection and procurement of wines for various company events, meetings, and functions. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure a diverse and high-quality wine inventory.

- Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of wines, ensuring proper storage conditions and regular stock checks. Monitor wine expiration dates and manage the rotation of stock.

- Wine Knowledge and Education: Provide guidance and support to team members regarding wine choices, pairings, and serving techniques. Stay updated on industry trends and new wine releases to share knowledge with colleagues.

- Event Support: Assist in organizing wine tastings and events, including setup and breakdown, coordinating with catering, and ensuring all wine service meets company standards.

- Customer Service: Engage with clients and colleagues to provide exceptional service, answering questions about wine selections and making recommendations based on preferences.

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all wine-related activities comply with local laws and regulations regarding the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages.

- Reporting: Prepare and maintain reports on wine inventory, sales, and usage to assist management in making informed purchasing decisions.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage, or a related field is preferred.

- Experience: Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality or construction industries.

- Wine Knowledge: Strong understanding of wine varieties, regions, and pairings. Certification from a recognized wine education program (e.g., WSET) is a plus.

- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.

- Cultural Awareness: Familiarity with the cultural and legal considerations surrounding the sale and service of alcohol in the UAE.
