Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Application Development Manager to lead our software development team in the Aerospace and Defense sector. This role is crucial for designing, developing, and implementing innovative software applications that meet the specific needs of our clients and enhance operational efficiency. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in software development, project management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

- Leadership: Oversee the application development team, providing direction, mentorship, and support to ensure high-quality software development practices and adherence to timelines.

- Project Management: Plan, execute, and monitor software development projects from inception to completion, ensuring they align with organizational goals and industry standards.

- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and product managers, to gather and analyze software requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

- Software Development: Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications that are robust, scalable, and secure, specifically tailored for the Aerospace and Defense industries.

- Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce coding standards, conduct code reviews, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices in software development.

- Technical Strategy: Develop and implement a technology roadmap that aligns with the company’s strategic objectives, ensuring the adoption of emerging technologies and methodologies.

- Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control.

- Team Development: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team, encouraging training and skill enhancement.

- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile) is a plus.

- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in application development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role within the Aerospace and Defense sector.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python), software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum), and experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure).

- Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulations relevant to Aerospace and Defense applications, such as DO-178C, DO-254, and ITAR compliance.

- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and proven capability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
