Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transportation Manager with a strong background in Information Technology to oversee and optimize our transportation operations in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient movement of goods and services, while leveraging technology to enhance logistics processes. This role requires a strategic thinker who can collaborate with various stakeholders to improve transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

- Transportation Strategy Development: Design and implement transportation strategies that align with the organization’s overall logistics and supply chain objectives, utilizing advanced IT solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

- Fleet Management: Oversee the management of the transportation fleet, including vehicle acquisition, maintenance, and compliance with local regulations, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.

- Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products. Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) to monitor and optimize delivery routes and schedules.

- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze transportation data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, forecast needs, and drive decision-making. Prepare regular reports for senior management to highlight performance metrics and areas for improvement.

- Budget Management: Develop and manage the transportation budget, ensuring all expenses are monitored and controlled, and explore cost-saving opportunities through innovative technology solutions.

- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers and transportation vendors. Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to ensure best-in-class service delivery.

- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant local and international transportation regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies. Implement safety training and protocols for all transportation-related activities.

- Technology Integration: Stay updated with the latest transportation technology trends, including GPS tracking, route optimization software, and automated logistics solutions. Lead initiatives to integrate new technologies that enhance operational capabilities.

- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of transportation specialists and logistics coordinators, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Conduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation management or logistics within the Information Technology sector.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations and compliance standards in the UAE.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
