Job Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Wine Buyer to join our dynamic team in Dubai. This unique position combines the appreciation of fine wines with the innovative landscape of healthcare, where we aim to enhance the dining experience for our clients and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of wine selection, procurement, and inventory management, along with a passion for providing exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

- Wine Selection & Procurement: Research, evaluate, and select a diverse range of wines that align with our healthcare facilities’ standards and clientele preferences. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to ensure optimal purchasing conditions.

- Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of wines, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained. Implement inventory tracking systems and conduct regular audits to minimize waste and optimize turnover.

- Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging wines, and market demand. Analyze sales data and customer feedback to make informed purchasing decisions and adjust inventory accordingly.

- Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with wine producers, distributors, and suppliers. Attend wine fairs, tastings, and industry events to network and discover new products.

- Quality Control: Ensure that all wines purchased meet the company's quality standards. Conduct regular tastings and evaluations of current inventory to assess quality and consistency.

- Education & Training: Provide training and support to staff on wine selection, pairings, and service techniques. Develop educational materials and workshops to enhance the knowledge and appreciation of wine within the organization.

- Compliance & Regulations: Ensure all wine purchases comply with local regulations and health standards. Stay informed about any changes in laws affecting alcohol procurement and distribution within the healthcare sector.

- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on wine inventory, sales performance, and market trends to senior management. Make recommendations for strategic purchasing and marketing initiatives.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in wine purchasing or a related role, preferably within the hospitality or healthcare sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of wines, including varietals, regions, and production techniques.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in supplier management.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certification from a recognized wine education program (e.g., WSET) is a plus.
