Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Allergy Technician to join our dynamic team in the Consumer Goods sector based in Dubai. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of allergy testing and management, with a strong emphasis on product safety and consumer health. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our consumer goods are safe for individuals with allergies and intolerances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough allergy testing on various consumer products to identify potential allergens and ensure compliance with local and international safety standards.
- Collaborate with product development teams to assess ingredient safety and evaluate the risk of allergic reactions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all testing procedures, results, and compliance documentation.
- Analyze testing data and prepare comprehensive reports to communicate findings to relevant stakeholders, including product managers and regulatory teams.
- Assist in the development and implementation of allergen control plans and protocols within the organization.
- Stay updated on the latest research and developments in allergy science and regulations to ensure the company's practices are current and effective.
- Provide training and support to staff on allergen awareness and safety protocols.
- Respond to consumer inquiries regarding allergens in products and provide clear and accurate information.
- Participate in audits and inspections as required, ensuring that all allergen-related processes meet regulatory and safety standards.
- Collaborate with external laboratories and partners for specialized testing when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years and maximum of 7 years of experience in allergen testing, quality control, or a similar role within the consumer goods industry.
- Strong understanding of allergen management practices and relevant regulations, including FDA, EFSA, or local UAE laws.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and methodologies for allergen detection.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in using laboratory equipment and software for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being able to work independently.
