Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cell Culture Technician to join our innovative team in the Aerospace and Defense sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting various cell culture experiments and supporting research initiatives that contribute to the development of advanced technologies and materials used in aerospace applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cell biology, laboratory techniques, and a passion for working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform routine cell culture techniques including cell line maintenance, passaging, freezing, and thawing of cells in a sterile environment.
- Prepare and sterilize culture media, reagents, and supplies necessary for cell culture experiments.
- Monitor and evaluate cell growth and morphology, documenting results meticulously in laboratory notebooks and electronic databases.
- Conduct experiments to assess the impact of various environmental factors on cell behavior and viability.
- Assist in the development and optimization of protocols for the isolation and characterization of primary cells and stem cells.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to design and execute experiments that support aerospace and defense projects, including biocompatibility testing and material development.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality control standards.
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to cell culture processes and laboratory equipment.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to team members and stakeholders.
- Stay current with advancements in cell culture techniques and related fields, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience in cell culture techniques and laboratory practices, preferably in a research or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques and familiarity with a variety of cell lines and culture conditions.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and troubleshoot experiments.
- Experience with imaging techniques, flow cytometry, or molecular biology methods is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality assurance practices in a laboratory setting is an advantage.
