Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Divorce Mediator to join our team in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in conflict resolution and mediation, particularly in divorce and family matters. The Divorce Mediator will facilitate constructive discussions between parties, helping them reach amicable solutions regarding the division of assets, custody arrangements, and other pertinent issues arising from the dissolution of marriage. This role is crucial in ensuring that the mediation process is conducted in a professional, respectful, and confidential manner.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Mediation Sessions:
- Conduct mediation sessions with couples undergoing divorce, providing a safe and structured environment for open dialogue.
- Guide participants through the mediation process, ensuring clarity and understanding of each step.
2. Issue Identification:
- Help parties identify and articulate their needs, interests, and concerns regarding the divorce.
- Facilitate discussions around key issues, including asset division, child custody, visitation rights, and financial responsibilities.
3. Conflict Resolution:
- Utilize effective negotiation techniques to assist parties in reaching mutually beneficial agreements.
- Employ conflict resolution strategies to de-escalate tensions and foster cooperative communication.
4. Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of mediation sessions, agreements reached, and any follow-up actions required.
- Draft mediation agreements and ensure all parties understand and agree to the terms outlined.
5. Legal and Ethical Compliance:
- Stay updated on local laws and regulations related to divorce and family mediation to provide accurate information and guidance.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality throughout the mediation process.
6. Support and Resources:
- Provide referrals to additional support services, such as legal advice, counseling, or financial planning, as needed.
- Offer resources and information to help parties navigate the emotional and practical aspects of divorce.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance mediation skills and stay current with best practices.
- Collect feedback from participants to improve the mediation process and client experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Conflict Resolution, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience in mediation, conflict resolution, or related fields.
- Certification in mediation or conflict resolution is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of family law and the divorce process within the UAE context.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to remain impartial and neutral.
- Proven ability to manage high-stress situations and maintain a calm demeanor.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is required; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
