Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher with a focus on Transportation and Logistics to join our innovative educational team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in special education, along with knowledge and experience in the transportation and logistics industry. This role is crucial in ensuring that students with diverse learning needs receive the support and instruction necessary to thrive in both academic and vocational settings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Instruction and Curriculum Development:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, particularly in the context of transportation and logistics.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to support inclusivity and accessibility in learning environments.
- Utilize specialized teaching techniques and resources to enhance the learning experience for students with varying abilities.

2. Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students’ academic and functional performance in relation to transportation and logistics topics.
- Monitor and document student progress towards IEP goals, providing regular updates to parents and the educational team.
- Analyze assessment data to inform instructional decisions and adjust teaching methods as necessary.

3. Behavioral and Social Support:
- Implement positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) to promote a conducive learning environment.
- Teach social skills and life skills relevant to the transportation and logistics sector to prepare students for future employment and independence.
- Foster a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages self-advocacy, collaboration, and respect among peers.

4. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to engage them in the educational process and to provide resources and strategies for supporting students at home.
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and industry trends.

5. Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with local education regulations and standards concerning special education.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and IEPs, and prepare reports as required.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification/license in Special Education.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a transportation and logistics context.
- Knowledge of transportation and logistics concepts, principles, and industry practices.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and to engage effectively with students, parents, and the community.

Skills and Abilities:

- Proficiency in using assistive technology and adaptive teaching methods.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to adapt lessons to meet the needs of individual students.
- Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the diverse backgrounds of students in Dubai.
