Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Underwriter Assistant to join our dynamic team in Sharjah, specializing in agricultural insurance. The ideal candidate will support the underwriting team in evaluating risks and processing agricultural insurance applications. This role is crucial in ensuring that our underwriting processes are efficient, accurate, and aligned with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in the review and analysis of insurance applications related to agricultural operations, including farms, crops, livestock, and related enterprises.
- Gather and assess information on potential risks associated with agricultural policies, including environmental conditions, farming practices, and market trends.
- Support underwriters in the preparation of underwriting reports and documentation, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
- Maintain and update underwriting databases and records, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, agents, and brokers to obtain necessary documentation and clarify information regarding applications and claims.
- Conduct preliminary risk assessments and provide recommendations to underwriters based on data analysis.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of underwriting guidelines and procedures for agricultural insurance products.
- Respond to inquiries from clients and agents regarding policy details, coverage options, and underwriting processes.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge of agricultural insurance products and underwriting practices.
- Collaborate with other departments, including claims and customer service, to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in underwriting, insurance, or a related field, preferably with a focus on agriculture.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assess risks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with underwriting software or databases.
- Knowledge of agricultural practices, market conditions, and risk factors associated with farming and related activities is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
