Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in the healthcare sector based in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining robust data pipelines, ensuring the integrity and availability of data, and supporting data analytics initiatives to enhance healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

- Data Pipeline Development: Design, construct, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support the collection, integration, and storage of data from various healthcare systems.

- Data Architecture: Collaborate with data architects and data scientists to develop a comprehensive data architecture that meets the needs of analytical and operational functions within the organization.

- Database Management: Manage and optimize databases to ensure high performance and availability. This includes monitoring database performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing best practices for data storage and retrieval.

- Data Quality Assurance: Implement data quality standards and procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of data across various healthcare applications. Identify and resolve data discrepancies and issues.

- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, healthcare professionals, and IT staff, to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data processes, data models, and architecture designs to ensure transparency and facilitate knowledge sharing.

- Data Security: Implement data security measures to protect sensitive healthcare data in compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).

- Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor data pipeline performance and make necessary adjustments to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

- Innovation: Stay updated with the latest technologies, tools, and best practices in data engineering and healthcare analytics. Propose innovative solutions to enhance data processes and analytics capabilities.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3 to 7 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, preferably in the healthcare sector.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala for data manipulation and ETL processes.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) as well as NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake).
- Understanding of data modeling, data governance, and data quality frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
