Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospital Social Worker to join our dynamic healthcare team in Dubai. This role combines the principles of social work with a focus on providing support and resources to patients and their families navigating the complexities of healthcare within the financial services sector. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of social work practices, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess the psychosocial needs of patients and their families, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their emotional, social, and financial circumstances.
- Provide individual and group counseling to patients and their families, helping them cope with illness, hospitalization, and related stressors.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and financial advisors, to develop and implement care plans that address both health and financial considerations.
- Advocate for patients’ rights and needs, assisting them in accessing appropriate healthcare services and financial resources.
- Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure understanding of medical conditions, treatment options, and financial implications.
- Conduct discharge planning and connect patients with community resources, support groups, and financial assistance programs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient interactions, assessments, and care plans in compliance with hospital policies and legal regulations.
- Stay informed about local and national social services, healthcare regulations, and financial assistance programs relevant to patient care.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance social work skills and knowledge within the financial services context.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work (BSW/MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within a hospital environment.
- Valid license to practice social work in the UAE.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong understanding of healthcare systems, financial services, and social service resources available in Dubai.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and establish rapport with diverse patient populations.
- Proficient in case management and crisis intervention techniques.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant software systems.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus.
