Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Advocate Assistant to join our team in Dubai's construction sector. This role is crucial in supporting our commitment to ensuring the welfare and safety of children in environments affected by construction activities. The ideal candidate will work closely with child advocates, community organizations, and families to promote the rights of children and foster a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Child Advocacy Programs: Assist in the development and implementation of child advocacy programs that address the unique challenges faced by children in construction zones.
- Community Outreach: Engage with local communities, schools, and organizations to raise awareness about child welfare issues related to construction activities and promote available resources.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Assist in the collection and analysis of data regarding child safety, well-being, and development in construction areas to inform advocacy efforts and program improvements.
- Case Management: Support child advocates in managing cases of children affected by construction-related issues, including documenting incidents, following up with families, and coordinating with relevant agencies.
- Resource Development: Help in creating and distributing educational materials related to child safety, rights, and available support services for families impacted by construction activities.
- Event Coordination: Assist in organizing community events, workshops, and training sessions aimed at educating construction workers, families, and community members about child advocacy and best practices for child safety.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Collaborate with government bodies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to promote policies and practices that protect children’s rights in construction environments.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of advocacy activities, community interactions, and child welfare incidents, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in child advocacy, social work, or community outreach, preferably in a construction or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of child rights and welfare issues, particularly in high-risk environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and community members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with data management tools.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus.
