Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Center Technician to join our dynamic team in the real estate sector. As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of our data center infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our IT systems that support our real estate operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Installation & Maintenance: Perform installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of servers, storage systems, and networking equipment in the data center. Ensure all hardware and software are operating efficiently.

- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Regularly monitor data center systems for performance issues or failures. Quickly troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues to minimize downtime.

- Data Backup & Recovery: Implement and manage data backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability. Maintain documentation of backup schedules and procedures.

- Environmental Monitoring: Monitor the data center environment, including temperature, humidity, and power supply. Ensure that all systems comply with safety and environmental standards.

- Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of data center assets and supplies. Assist in the procurement of new equipment as required.

- Collaboration: Work closely with IT support teams, network engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of systems and services.

- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for data center processes, configurations, and procedures. Ensure that all changes are logged and documented.

- Security Compliance: Implement and uphold security protocols to ensure data center security and compliance with industry standards. Monitor access to the data center and maintain logs of personnel and equipment.

- Technical Support: Provide technical support and training to staff on data center operations and best practices.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Cisco CCNA) will be a plus.

- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in data center operations, IT support, or a related field.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in server hardware, virtualization technologies, storage solutions, and networking concepts. Familiarity with monitoring tools and data center infrastructure management (DCIM) software.

- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to think critically and solve complex technical issues quickly.

- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard.

- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy equipment, work in a physically demanding environment, and work outside of standard hours when necessary.
