Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Data Center Technician to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi, focusing on the consumer goods sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, availability, and reliability of our data center infrastructure. This role involves hands-on technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems within the data center environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Infrastructure Management: Monitor and maintain data center equipment including servers, storage systems, and networking devices to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
- Installation and Configuration: Assist in the installation, configuration, and deployment of new hardware and software systems, ensuring adherence to best practices and company standards.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support for hardware and software issues, diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on data center equipment to identify potential issues before they impact operations.
- Data Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage data backup processes, ensuring data integrity and availability. Assist in data recovery efforts as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of data center operations, including inventory management, configuration changes, and incident reports.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, network engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of data center resources with organizational goals.
- Security Compliance: Ensure adherence to security protocols and best practices within the data center to protect sensitive information and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Capacity Planning: Assist in monitoring system performance and capacity, providing recommendations for upgrades or expansions as necessary.
- Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and development to keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a data center or IT support role.
- Strong knowledge of server hardware, storage solutions, and networking principles.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting operating systems (Windows, Linux) and common software applications.
- Experience with data center monitoring tools and management software.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent.
- Experience in the consumer goods industry is an advantage.
- Knowledge of data center energy efficiency and sustainability practices.

Working Conditions:

- This position may require occasional evening or weekend work to perform maintenance or upgrades outside of regular business hours.
- The technician may be required to lift heavy equipment and work in varying temperatures, including cooler environments in data center areas.
