Job Description:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Agricultural Specialist to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi, focusing on enhancing agricultural practices in the healthcare sector. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of agricultural expertise and an understanding of the health implications of agricultural practices, particularly in relation to nutrition, food safety, and sustainable farming methods.

Key Responsibilities:

- Research and Development: Conduct research on sustainable agricultural practices, crop varieties, and technologies that can improve food safety and nutritional value in healthcare settings.

- Advisory Role: Provide expert advice to healthcare facilities and organizations on the integration of agricultural practices that promote health and nutrition, including the implementation of community gardens and local food sourcing.

- Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare professionals, nutritionists, and food scientists to develop programs that educate patients and communities about the benefits of fresh produce and healthy eating.

- Education and Training: Design and conduct training sessions and workshops for healthcare staff and community members on sustainable agriculture and its impact on health, including organic farming techniques, pest management, and soil health.

- Policy Development: Contribute to the formulation of policies and guidelines that promote sustainable agricultural practices within the healthcare sector, ensuring alignment with local and international standards.

- Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of agricultural programs in healthcare settings, providing recommendations for improvements.

- Community Engagement: Engage with local farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and community organizations to foster partnerships that support health promotion through agriculture.

- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze agricultural and health data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, preparing comprehensive reports for stakeholders.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Horticulture, Food Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in agricultural development, with a focus on health and nutrition.

- Strong understanding of sustainable agricultural practices and their implications for health and nutrition.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.

- Proven experience in project management, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.

- Knowledge of local agricultural policies and regulations in the UAE is a plus.

- Proficiency in data analysis software and tools for reporting and evaluation.
