Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Purchasing Manager to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing sector based in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the efficient acquisition of materials and services necessary for production operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
- Manage the full procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, and purchasing goods and services.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities and performance.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure timely supply of materials and avoid production delays.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and finance teams to understand material requirements and budget constraints.
- Evaluate supplier performance through regular reviews and audits, ensuring compliance with quality standards and contractual obligations.
- Prepare and present purchasing reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and optimize purchasing processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulations affecting procurement practices.
- Train and mentor junior procurement staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in purchasing or procurement within the manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of successful supplier negotiation and management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards affecting procurement practices in the UAE.
